Alfred Joseph Burford, 94, died Tuesday September 6, 2022. He was born in Malvern, Ohio on May 15, 1928 to Earl and Gladys (Norris) Burford.

Joe graduated from Malvern High School.  He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.  After discharge from the Navy, Joe and his wife moved to Charlottesville where he attended UVA, earning a BS in Electronical Engineering.  Joe worked at Sperry, NRAO, and FSTC in Charlottesville.  He was the Owner/President of A. J. Associates, Inc. in Charlottesville where he designed and manufactured radar antenna and pedestals sold worldwide.

Joe is survived by two children: a daughter, Susan (David) Hale and a son, Alfred J. (Rosa) Burford II; four grandchildren: Eric (Jess) Hale, Kevin Hale, Abigail Burford, and Alfred J. Burford III; and a good friend, Karla Klumpp Berger.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his soulmate and wife of 52 years, June Marie Martin Burford.

Graveside services with full military honors will be at 1 PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Greentown Cemetery, Bellhaven Avenue, Uniontown, Ohio with Pastor Aaron Linard of the Malvern United Methodist Church officiating.
