Barbara Joyce Paxton, age 76 of Minerva, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Barbara was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 5, 1945 to Alton and Mona (Blow) Spafford.

Barbara loved working with children. She worked as an aide for the Minerva Local School District and was a member of the Classified Union. She was involved with the Minerva Women's Club and had served on the Minerva Public Library Board of Trustees. Barbara enjoyed doing needlepoint, reading, gardening, and was an animal lover.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Paxton of Minerva; one daughter, Marcia (Roy) Johnson of Carrollton; three grandchildren: Amanda Hughes of Minerva, Lindsay Moore of Minerva, and Scott (Erin) Boyce of Minerva; four great-grandchildren: Rylee, Skylar, Linlee, and Londyn; and one brother, Robert (Gloria) Spafford of Richmond KY.

Funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home, 205 West Lincoln Way, Minerva, Ohio, on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Anderson of Paradise United Church of Christ officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bartley Funeral Home.
