Bige Lawrence Combs Sr, age 87 of East Rochester, passed away at on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at his home. Bige was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 11, 1936 to Bige and Dorothy Combs.

Bige worked for 36 years at Baily Controls in Wickliffe. In his late years, he served as a Methodist pastor in Mt. Pleasant, Mainard, West Chester, Leon, Melmore, and Freeport.  Bige was a member of the Portage Faith United Methodist Church (Shalersville). Bige and his wife enjoyed traveling and tent camping for 30 years. They also traveled to England.

To cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Jacquelyn Combs of Minerva; his daughter, Louise McCaul of Minerva; five sons: James Combs of Youngstown, Lawrence Combs of Geneva, Bige Combs Jr of Shalersville, Roy (Sharon) Harris of Shalersville, and Richard (Sherri) Harris of Streetsboro; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda (Steve) Kemp of Brook Park.

In addition to his parents, Bige was preceded in death by a son, Robert Combs; a daughter, Wanda Combs; a brother, Ed Combs; and a sister, Dee Combs.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
