Bonnie Jane Keister

Bonnie Jane Keister, age 84 of Minerva, passed away at Minerva Healthcare & Rehabilitation on Monday, September 14, 2026. Bonnie was born in Augusta, Ohio on August 12, 1942 to James and Lela (Saling) Ramsey.

She dedicated her life to her family and her role as a homemaker, creating a warm and nurturing environment that served as the heart of her household. She delighted in the art of cooking, with a particular passion for crafting delicious desserts that brought joy to her family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with the sweet aroma of her creations, a testament to her talent and love for sharing her culinary gifts.

Bonnie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She tended to her garden with great care, cultivating vibrant flowers and lush greenery that brought beauty and tranquility to all who visited. Her skilled hands were rarely idle, as she spent countless hours crocheting intricate patterns, crafting heartfelt gifts for those she cherished. She also enjoyed engaging in various crafts. Her creativity and attention to detail shone through in every project she undertook, leaving behind beautiful works that captured her spirit and skill.

A woman of deep faith, Bonnie drew strength and solace from her involvement with her local church. Her dedication to her spiritual community was unwavering, and she enjoyed the fellowship and sense of purpose it provided.

Bonnie also had a passion for collecting bells, amassing a charming collection that reflected her love of their delicate sound and unique designs. Each bell held a special memory or story, carefully curated over a lifetime.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 68 years Dale Lee Keister of Minerva; two sons: Ted (Kim) Keister of Malvern and Dale Keister II of Minerva; two daughters: Cynthia (Clinton) Butts of Canton and Sally Keister of Minerva; 6 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Keister; 5 sisters: Edith Anderson, Alice Shank, Opal Brown, Betty Ramsey, and Donna Keister; and 4 brothers: Charles Ramsey, George Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, and Thomas Ramsey.

Funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home, 205 West Lincoln Way, Minerva, Ohio , on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tim Gropp officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bartley Funeral Home.
