Daniel Jacob Lucas, known affectionately as Dan, passed away on December 17, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. He was born on December 31, 1949, to the late Thomas and Martha Jane (Wadsworth) Lucas, and at the time of his passing, he was 73 years old.

Educationally, Dan graduated from Marlington High School in 1968. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict, bravely defending his country. After his military career, Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Technology from the University of Akron. Dan was a dedicated and skilled electronic technician, having worked for Domer Communications for several years.

Outside of his professional life, Dan had a passion for NASCAR and enjoyed following the thrilling races. His enthusiasm for the sport was well-known among his friends and loved ones. Additionally, he generously shared his time as a volunteer at Mercy Medical Center for several years, by doing plant arrangements for the gift shop.

Dan leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Arthea B. Lucas of Perry Township, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He also leaves cherished memories for his surviving family members: his sister Donna (Stephen) Fletcher of Minerva, his brother Dale (Janice) Lucas of Plain City, and his sister Diane (Ralph) Clark of Beloit.

Services to honor Dan's life will not be held. However, his loved ones will find solace in their memories of him and the impact he made on their lives. Dan's kind heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
