David Louis Smith Sr., age 72, of Minerva Ohio, passed away on January 2, 2024 at the Alliance Community Hospital. David was, born on January 11, 1951, in Welland, Ontario, Canada, to Mathew and Clara Belle (Flowers) Smith.

David was a dedicated welder throughout his career, showcasing his skills and commitment to his craft. However, while his work was important to him, his true passions lay outside of the welding shop. He was an avid fan of The Cleveland Browns, supporting his favorite team through thick and thin. David also found solace in fishing, spending countless hours by the water, enjoying the tranquility it provided.

Most importantly, David cherished his wife, Karen Smith, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 11, 2023. Their love was a testament to the enduring power of devotion and partnership. Karen and David built a life together, filled with love, laughter, and shared memories.

David will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his loving spouse, Karen Smith of Minerva, OH; his daughter Neema (Scott) Mitchell of Euclid; his two sons David (Janine) Smith Jr. of Canton and Dana (Naomi) Smith Sr. of Paris, his grandchildren: Ty, Bryan, Bryana, Shaianne, Sienna, Dana Jr., Zach, Brayden, and Gage, as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to his immediate family, David is survived by his brother Robert Smith of Ravenna; his brother-in-law Harold Bender of Streetsboro; and his sister-in-law Jan Lawrence of Alliance.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a grandson, Mathew; and a sister-in-law, Diana.

As per David's wishes, no services will be held to honor his life.
