Donald Lee Mingus, Sr., 80, of Taylorsville, NC, formerly of Minerva, passed away Thursday, July 17th, 2014 in his home following a long illness.

Donald was born in Kensington, OH on February 3, 1934, a son of the late George and Martha (Lenigar) Mingus.

He spent his working days as a long distance truck driver. He was a member of Dyson Grove Baptist Church.

Donald is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sarah (Harper) Mingus; three daughters, Cathy Jo Frost, of MD, Tammy J. (Kenny) Court of Malvern, Sharon L. Mingus of North Industry, OH; five sons Donald L. (Edie) Mingus, Jr., of Canton, OH, Richard L. (Michelle) Mingus, of Baypoint, CA, Frank L. (Mary) Mingus, of Mechanicstown, Dean A. (Brenda) Mingus, of Homeworth, Raymond K. (Rena) Mingus, of Lisbon; three step-sons Gerald Craig, of Kentucky; Henry Jaeger, of Florida; David Jaeger, of Michigan; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Stanley, of Concord, CA, Juanita May, of Carrollton, Carol Seibert, of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, Bobby Mingus, of WV, Billy Mingus, of Malvern,and Joe Mingus, of Baypoint, CA.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Jean (Tucker) Mingus, sisters Katherine Smith and Mary Zurcher, June Mingus and brother, Charles Mingus.

Funeral Services will be held in the Bartley Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 24th, 2014. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday one hour before the service at the Bartley Funeral Home.
