Dwayne Herman Steigerwald, 95, of Malvern, passed away, Monday, September 18th, 2017 in his home.
Dwayne was born in Navarre, OH on February 16, 1922, a son of the late Clarence and Arselle (Frantz) Steigerwald.
He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Malvern.
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class during WW II on the USS Lindsey, in the South Pacific, Marshall Islands, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa.
He worked in the forge shop at Republic Steel for 43 years retiring in 1983.
Dwayne is survived by two daughters, Cinda L. (Tom) Pignotti, of Malvern and Kandi K. Phillips, of Malvern; grandchildren Michelle (Kevin) Pate of Vincent, OH, and Dan (Mindy) Pignotti of Kingwood TX; great-grandchildren Kaylee Pate, Justin Pate, Ashlee Pate, Lily Pignotti and niece Sue Foutty of Magnolia, nephew Jim Steigerwald of Canton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mildred Maye (Jones) Steigerwald and brother Clarence Steigerwald.
Funeral services will be held in St. Martin Lutheran Church, Malvern, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 with Rev. A. Wallace Anderson officiating. Calling Hours will be Thursday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. in the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
