Elden E. "Bud" Delaney, 89, of Minerva, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 2nd, 2011.

Elden was born in Carrollton, OH on June 6, 1921, the son of the late Cornel Ellsworth and Erma Ruby (Miller) Delaney.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Minerva, where he was an ordained elder, and held many other offices in the church. He is a former member of the Minerva Rotary Club.

Bud graduated from Carrollton High School in 1941 and worked as a service man at Amerigas for 37 years retiring in 1985.

Elden is survived by his wife, Della Jean (Swank) Delaney; three daughters, Rebecca S. DeLane of Minerva, OH; Barbara J. (Terry) Brooks of Carrollton, OH, Pamela K. Platt of Carrollton, OH; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma J. Miller of Carrollton, OH; two brothers, Richard E. (Eileen) Delaney of St. Clairsville, OH, and William R. (Hannelore) Delaney of Brea, CA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Robert Delaney.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church of Minerva, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011 with Mr. Dale Roberts and Mr. Ralph Norman officiating.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 5 - 8 PM. at First Christian Church of Minerva. Burial will be in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
