Etta Myers, 94, of Malvern, Ohio, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, November 14, 2011.
Born March 19, 1917 in Chesterhill, Ohio, she was the youngest in a family of nine, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. They were parented by William and Rebecca Fischer.
Etta worked as a crane operator at the Westinghouse plant in Canton during WW II. She then worked for Superior Switchboard from 1951 - 1970. She retired into the busy life she loved, gardening, growing flowers and being actively involved in farming with her husband.
She is survived by her husband Thurlow, with whom she celebrated their 75th Anniversary in June 13 of this year.
She is also survived by her three children, Martha Fletcher (Joe) of Indiana, Raymond Myers and Marge Streamo (Joe), both of Canton, and her six grandchildren Douglas Fletcher, Linda Kuskye, Jan Brandmeyer, Paula Randich, Steve Fletcher, and Valerie Streamo, and 14 great-grandchildren.
The remaining Myers family is certain they will never forget the very professional, kind, thorough and thoughtful treatment that Etta received from the following groups for the last eight months, including the last hours: The Visiting Nurse Society, The Hospice group, and Chaplain Larry Karlen; all associated with the Alliance Community Hospital.
At her request, there will be no services.
