Gene Noling, 81, of Lisbon, formerly of Minerva, passed away Friday, February 17th, 2017, at Crandall Medical Center, in Sebring.

Gene was born in Minerva, OH on December 13, 1935, a son of the late James and Mary (Lee)  Noling.

He was a member of American Legion Post 357 and East Liverpool Post 374, 40 et 8, VFW in Lisbon, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Minerva United Methodist Church. He served as the Post Commander in Minerva and 10th District Commander.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked as a self-employed upholsterer and  as a salesperson for many companies.

Gene is survived by two daughters, Tracy (Gary) Hammonds, of Dover; Amanda (Michael) Butream, of Lisbon; three sons Steve (Lorraine) Noling, of Atamore, AL; Scott Noling, of Minerva; Joseph Spoonemore, of Canton; and grandchildren Amber Noling, Genevieve Noling, Karen (Greg) Jurica, Nick (Krista) Hammond, Isaac Hammonds, Benjamin Hammonds, Connor Spoonemore, Reese Spoonemore, Sloane Spoonemore, and Adelynn Butream.

He is preceded in death by daughter Melody Jo Noling, sisters Gladys Marhover, Leila Russell, brother Lemoine Noling and his special friend Sherrill Shaw.

Funeral services will be held in the Minerva United Methodist Church, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21st, 2017 with Rev. Harley Wheeler officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Minerva United Methodist Church. Following cremation, burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
