Obituary for Jack Arthur Russell
Jack A. Russell, age 84 of Malvern, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Jack was born in Magnolia, Ohio on June 20, 1934 a son of the late William Edgar and Leona Fern (Thomas) Russell.
Jack was lifelong member of the Malvern United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a custodian at Malvern High School for 25 years. He also worked at Good Roads, TRW and Malvern Brick Yards, and was an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 155 in Malvern.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma (Wetzel) Russell; daughter, Dixie Hawkins, of Carrollton, son, Scott (Janice) Russell, of Minerva, daughter, Penny McDaniel Glass, of Wilmore, KY, daughter, Cindy (Hector) Guzman, of Canton, brother, Raymond (Jean) Russell, of Plain City, Ohio, sister, Kathleen (Richard) Klotz, of North Canton, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers, Donald, David 'Sonny," and Wayne Russell.
Funeral services will be held at Malvern United Methodist Church, 121 Wood Street, Malvern, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Frank Zugaro and Rev. Alan Hill officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Deckman Bartley Funeral Home, 434 W. Main St., Malvern. Memorial contributions can be made to Boy Scout Troop 155, Malvern.
