James Tidball Woods

James Tidball Woods, age 73 of Malvern, passed away at Aultman Health Foundation on Monday, October 12, 2026. James was born in Canton, Ohio on September 23, 1953 to Robert and Margaret (Thompson) Woods.

James graduated from Malvern High School. He then furthered his education at the University of Mount Union earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies.

James was a dedicated businessman and avid enthusiast of history, sports, and music. For over four decades, James was the proud owner of Woods Grocery Store, where he served his community with unwavering commitment and integrity.

Known for his deep appreciation of the past and a lifelong passion for athletics, James found joy in sharing stories and following the games he loved. His love for music was a constant companion throughout his life. James will be remembered for his steadfast dedication to his work and his enduring interests that brought him great happiness.

James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charm Woods of Malvern and a son, Andrew Woods of Los Angeles, CA.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Woods.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home 434 West Main Street, Malvern, Ohio.
