Jo Ann Mary Bennett, 74, of East Rochester went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Aultman Hospital following a short illness.

Jo Ann was born in Canton, OH on July 3, 1941, a daughter of the late Peter and Anna K. (Stubavi) Madak.

She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she was active in the Catholic Women's Club. She retired as a teacher's aid in Minerva Local Schools after 28 years.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Bruce Frederick Bennett; a daughter, Lori (Ronnie) McClellan, of Minerva; a son, James (Tammy) Bennett, of Augusta; grandchildren Taryn (Zachary) Schoeppner, Alec Shatzer, Kyle Shatzer, Tyler Bennett, Taylar Bennett; three sisters, Joyce A. Foor, of Ft. Myers, Florida; Judith A. Roach, of Carrollton; Janet A. (James) Edwards, of East Canton; and a brother, Joseph (Anna L.) Madak, of Minerva; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Jean Calhoun.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 400 W. High St., Minerva, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 with Celebrant Fr. Victor Cinson. Calling hours will be held Friday 5 - 8 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
