Jonell Cooper, age 88, of Malvern, passed away at her daughter's home on Friday, September 19, 2025. Jonell was born in Ghent, West Virginia on October 7, 1936 to George and Bulah (Ford) Meador.
Jonell was a devoted wife and mother from Ghent, West Virginia. After she was married, she and her husband moved to Ohio for the remaining years of their lives. Jonell was employed as an inspector for Steers Enterprises. She spent 23 years in Byesville Ohio after the passing of her husband. She attended the Byesville Senior Center and enjoyed playing cards. She was an aide to 2 men in her life as they both passed away. She spent the last five years with illness living in Malvern Ohio with her daughter. She is at peace now with her husband, son, parents, and friends.
Jonell is survived her daughter, Beverly (Ralph Grant) Currington of Malvern, OH; granddaughters: Joy (Ryan) Labbe of Madison and Crystal (Dan) of Indiana; great-grandchildren: Alex, Zachary, Kinzley, Kaytlyn, and Haley; a great-great grandson, Jyace; sisters: Maxine Mann, Retha Cray, and Judy Edwards; and a brother, Robert Meador.
In addition to her parents, Jonell was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Cooper; a son, Donald Cooper; and a brother, Gilbert Meador.
Graveside services will be held at Northwood Cemetery, 1399 North 10th Street, Cambridge Ohio 43725 on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 12:00 pm with Raymond Stanley officiating.
