Linda Thayer, age 90 of Malvern, passed away at Community Hospice Truman House on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Linda was born in Canton, Ohio on April 25, 1936 to Paul Howarth and Myra (Riegler) Plum.
Linda left behind a legacy marked by her passion for art, love for reading, and dedication to her community. Throughout her career at the Hoover Company, she exemplified hard work and commitment, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
In her personal life, Linda was a devoted member of the Art Club, where she found joy in expressing her creativity and sharing it with others. As a charter member of the Lake Mohawk Golf Club, she cherished the friendships and camaraderie that came with each round of golf. Her love for the game was matched only by her appreciation for the beauty of nature, often spending time tending to her flower garden, which was a vibrant testament to her nurturing spirit.
Linda's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the simple pleasures she held dear. She will be remembered always for her warmth, generosity, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those fortunate enough to call her a friend.
Linda is survived by her husband, Donald Thomas Thayer of Malvern; her daughters: Mabel Greenlief of Newport TN, Myra (Terry) Lynch of Carrollton, Martha (Charles) Asplin of Carrollton, Christine (Mart) Smith of Mechanicstown, and Wendy (Mark) Donze of Green; a son, Scott (Kristine)Thayer of Portland OR; a brother, Guy Howarth; countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her stepfather, Arden Plum, a son, William Q McCauley II; a sister, Carolyn Ailing; and a brother, Chet Howarth.
Per her request, there will be no services. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
