Marlene L Crowl

Marlene L Crowl, age 87 of Malvern, passed away at Altercare of Alliance on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Marlene was born in Knoxville, Ohio on March 21, 1939 to Ray and Hazel (Scott) Felton.

Marlene left behind a legacy of love, devotion, and service. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family as a homemaker and lent her skills to bookkeeping tasks when needed. Marlene's vibrant spirit shone brightly in her passion for playing games, often bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, deeply influencing her actions and commitments. She was an active member of her church community, where she found joy and fulfillment teaching Sunday School and participating in the women's ministry.

Marlene is survived by a son, Jeff (Connie) Crowl of Malvern; a daughter Donna (John) Champer of Malvern; 13 grandchildren: April (Phillip) Buckhannon, Neil (Shannon) Schmidt, David Crowl, Carrie Crowl, Joseph Crowl, Kimberly Crowl, Megan (Alex) Barnett, William (Joanna) Darby, Daniel Darby, Nolan (Kristy) Champer, John (Liza) Champer, Adam (Natalie) Champer, Maggie Champer; 10 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Collin, Savanah, Sophia, Kaiden, Owen, Rhys, Silas, Wyatt, and Noah; a son-in-law, William Darby of Akron; and a sister, Patricia Fox of Newnan, GA.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Crowl; a brother, Gene Felton; a sister, Esther Albright; a daughter, Laura Darby; and a son, David Crowl.

Funeral service will be held at Deckman Bartley Funeral Home, 434 West Main Street, Malvern, Ohio, on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Kevin McLeod of Resurrection Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Deckman Bartley Funeral Home.
