Obituary

Mary A. (Friedman) Gardner, 91, of Malvern, passed away, Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 in her home.

Mary was born in Brown Twp. on January 21, 1921, the daughter of the late Edward and June (Brown) Friedman. She is also preceded in death by her brother Edward Martin Friedman, Jr., sister-in-law Bonita (Prior) Friedman, brothers-in-law Theodore Oprean and Darl Gardner, great-nephew Matthew Oprean.

She retired from Nationwide Insurance after eighteen years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church

Mary is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Earl Gardner, a sister, Cecilia A. Oprean; sister-in-law Irene Gardner; brother-in-law Dale Gardner, nephews Edward III and Diane Friedman, Jon and Donna Friedman, Theodore and Celeste Oprean, Gerard and Sherry Oprean, Martin and Darlene Oprean, Philip and Jan Oprean, Rick Gardner, Scott and Rebecca Gardner, Timothy and Cindy Gardner, Michael and Susan Gardner, Patrick and Melanie Gardner, Dale, Jr. and Melissa Gardner, nieces Kathleen Furbee, Maryann and Richard Dales, Cynthia and Daniel Bylene, Pamela and Gregory Robbins, Theresa and Steve Schillig, Valerie and Tim Knight, Cynthia Gardner, Suzanne and Tim Narduzzi; 60 great nieces ad nephews, 45 great-great nieces and nephews

Mary treated all her nieces and nephews as her own children. Mary had a strong devotion to her Catholic faith. Mary started the Right to Life and food banks at St. Francis Xavier. She supported many Christian organizations for the poor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Malvern, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30th, 2012 with Celebrants Fr. Victor Cinson and Fr. Thomas Bishop. Calling hours will be held Sunday, 4 - 7 p.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A Wake Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
