Minerva

Mary Jo Hardman, age 92 of Minerva, passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Community in Minerva on Monday, June 1, 2026. Mary Jo was born in Fonzo, West Virginia on November 13, 1933 to George and Della Gae (Gill) Stanley.

Mary Jo left behind a legacy of kindness and gentle care. Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to volunteer work at the local Senior Citizens Center, where she brought smiles and comfort to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A devoted member of the Alpha Rho class at her church, Mary Jo's faith was a guiding light in her life, and she found great joy in sharing her love of quilting with fellow congregants and friends. Her intricate quilts were not just pieces of art but cherished gifts that warmed the hearts of many.

Mary Jo also had a passion for picture puzzles, spending countless hours thoughtfully piecing together beautiful images. This pastime mirrored her approach to life—patiently and lovingly fitting the pieces together to create something beautiful and complete.

Mary Jo is survived by two sons: Donald (Laura) of Fishersville VA and Ronald (Vicki) of Minerva; five grandchildren: Joseph Hardman, Tangi (Brian) Schondel, Matthew (Ashlie) Hardman, Joshua (Suzanne) Hardman, and Abigayle (Curt) Wallace; eleven great-grandchildren: Cherry, Nadia, Hayden, Amalie, Ashley, Emily, Evan, Benjamin, Hannah, Evelyn, and Noah; five great-great grandchildren: Gage, Roman, Ryker, Linley, and Laney; ex-daughter-in-law, Angel Hardman; sister, Bessie Wilson of Austin TX; and two brothers: Therman (Short) Stanley of Stringtown, WV, and Harold (Deb) Stanley of Isle of the Palm, NC.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Stanley.
