Melvin "Travis" Hillyer, 75, of Canton, peacefully passed away on January 28, 2024, at Altercare in Hartville. He was born on March 19, 1948, in Canton, the son of the late Donald and Ruth (McCort) Hillyer Sr.

Travis will be remembered for his kind, gentle nature and an ornery smile. He was a man of few words but possessed a deep love for his siblings.

To cherish his memories are his brother, Donald (Mariam) Hillyer Jr; his sister Judy Hillyer; and several nephews and cousins.

Travis's life will be honored with a private burial at East Lawn Cemetery. Although Travis's presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
