Obituary
Michael Joe Messina, Sr, 60, of Amsterdam, OH passed away unexpectedly in his home, Wednesday, July 12th, 2017.
Michael was born in Zanesville, Ohio on January 1, 1957, the only son of the late Catherine Colleen (Hypes) Miller and Joseph Messina.
He was a mechanic and body man who most recently owned Mike's Car Care in Minerva. He loved his country music having performed in several bands.
Michael is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rose (Eggleston) Messina; a daughter, Chastity Griffin, of Surfside Beach SC; a son, Michael (Eowynne) Messina, of Massillon; grandchildren: Zacchery Griffin, Madison Messina, Brantley Messina; five sisters, Shirley Rogos, of Fowler; Joyce (John) Tarr, of New Boston MI; Karen (Ron) Price, of Fowler; Connie (Bill) Kirkland, of Mentor; Renee (Dennis) Sapp, of Louisville, twelve other brothers and sisters of Newark, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at the Bartley Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15th, 2017.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon - 2 p.m.
