Patricia Ann Smith (Carnahan) Sheely
Patricia Sheely left our presence on March 19, 2016 to join our Lord and Savior. She was born in Minerva, Ohio on November 2, 1935 to Roland S. and Jane A. Smith. She lived most of her life in the Minerva, Ohio area where she owned a tax accounting business for many years.
Pat is survived by her 4 children, Tim Hutchins of Dover, Florida, Sally Blue of Fort Myers, Florida, Kathy (Kurt) Helsinger of Nettie, West Virginia, and Tom (Yvonne) Hutchins of North Canton, 8 grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her two sisters, Dolores (Doyle) Smith of Canton, and Susan (Jerry) Hawk of Malvern, her brother, Roland (Pauline) Smith of Malvern, her step-daughters, Susan Pomerson and Wendy Shonhardt of Sandusky, stepsons, Steve Sheely of Cocoa, Florida, Harold Barber (Elizabeth) of Mechanicstown, Tom (Pam) Carnahan of Hanoverton, and Clyde (Patsy) Carnahan of Honeapath, South Carolina, and all of the Carnahan family, nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Sue Sabatino of Salineville, Ohio. Pat is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Charles LeRoy Hutchins, Jim Carnahan, and Lester Sheely.
Pat is a 1953 graduate of Minerva High School and attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio studying music. She enjoyed playing piano and dulcimer for many church services and also participated in dulcimer festivals and competitions with her friend, Sue Sabatino.
Calling hours will be Thursday at 10 AM to Noon followed by a short service at Bartley Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio with Rabbi Mark Lancaster of Beit Hakavod Messianic Synagogue, Pastor Harley Wheeler of the Minerva United Methodist Church, and Pastor Harold Barber of the Greenbrier Church.
