Patricia Ann Reed
Patricia Ann Reed, 80, of Malvern, passed away Wednesday, August 10th, 2016, in the Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
Pat was born in Malvern, OH on November 9, 1935, a daughter of the late Clarence and Esther (Ruff) Reed.
She was Valedictorian of the class of 1953 at Malvern High School, and at the age of 19, Pat married Wayne "Hap" Norris Reed sharing 35 years together until his passing in 1990. A huge joy in her life was spending time with her grandson, Nathan and the years spent raising her two children of whom she was so proud.
Pat loved working for Brown local Schools (Malvern) where she served as treasurer after 30 years, retiring in 1995. Because her daughter loved being an athlete, Pat used her influence and was instrumental in starting and supporting a girl's sport program at Malvern High School .
She served on the Brown Local School Board for 8 years which included a stint as President.
She has been an Emanon Club member since 1954, She loved all of you so much. She also was a member and Past President of Alpha Sorosis Women's Club,
Her lifetime of volunteer service included: Malvern Community Care Center for 5 years, Stark County Crisis and Suicide Intervention Center, 400 hours, and Carroll County Hospice where she served as a clerical and bereavement aide.
Pat was a lifetime member of the United Presbyterian Church until its closing (her ancestors were early founders) where she served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher and Church Elder. After the Presbyterian Church in Malvern closed, she remained active in it successor church, the United Community Church,
Pat remained active in the Rotary Club of Malvern until her death. She had been a member since 1990 and served as club treasurer and president, She received a Paul Harris Fellow and sponsored two others.

Laugh, be strong and fiercely independent that is what gets you through.

Always go on vacation, bus tours, with friends and make new ones.
Tell your children you love them often.
Show your children you love them often.
On Kentucky Derby Day take bets and wear funny hats.
Play games at family gatherings; don't forget to add blooper prizes.
Enjoy giving most of your lottery money away to family and friends.
Pat is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Lea (Michael) Chiurco, of Malvern; a son, Todd Alan (Michelle) Reed, of Malvern; grandson, Nathan Chiurco of Malvern; a sister, Sonia Jean Strock, of Malvern and her sons, Bradley (Tena) Strock, Eddie (Cindy) Strock, Scott Strock, Shawn Strock.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and nephew Brian Strock..
Funeral Services will be held in the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th, 2016 with Rev. A. Wallace Anderson officiating. Calling hours will be Friday 5 - 8 p.m.. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
