Robert Edward Farnsworth, 65, of Malvern, passed away Tuesday, March 13th, 2012 at his residence, following a 2 1/2 year illness.
Robert was born in Canton, OH on April 23, 1946, the son of the late Wilbert and Anna Gertrude (Hooper) Farnsworth.
He loved sports, was a graduate of East Canton High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was employed as a saw operator at Timken for 30 years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Viola R. Farnsworth; two daughters, Lynn (Steve) Preston of Augusta, Mary (Ronald Boyd) Parker of Canton; a son, Lee (Tiffany Newman) Farnsworh of East Canton; two step daughters, Tracy (Paul Szymanski) Netherton of Las Vegas, Penny (Steven Hawkins) Roby of Minerva; a step son, Randall (Julie Oswald) Roby of Alliance; two sisters, Audrey Ross of Marrietta., Shirley Gillespie of Malvern; and a brother, Carl Farnsworth of Alliance.
He is also survived by his special side kick, Buddy, 18 of the best granchildren, 5 super great-grandchildren, 31 beloved nieces and nephews, two best friends Dwayne Bradley and Raymond Meese; close friends Rod and Rhonda Falin of South Carolina. He will surely be missed.
He is precede in death by brothers Wilbert, Dale, Donald and Ronald Farnsworth, sisters Norma Douglas and Ivy Ross and brother-in-law Carl Gillespie, Sr..
Robert's wishes were to be cremated. There are no services.
