Susan Kay Bennett, 60, Malvern, passed away Saturday, August 30th, 2014 in her home surrounded by family.
Susan was born in Canton, OH on June 11, 1954, a daughter of the late Robert and Doris (Schlub) Maurer.
She was a 1972 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. She moved from Magnolia to Malvern in 1982 where she owned Wackerly's Restaurant until 1992. She was employed as a Rural Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in East Sparta, Ohio.
Susan loved horseback riding, golfing, swimming and gardening, but her main loves were her four grandchildren.
She was known for her love of people, especially all her friends who stood by her through this. She could not thank them enough.
Her love of God and her unwavering faith carried her until the end.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her step-daughter Tamara (Bennett) Rue.
Susan is survived by her beloved husband of sixteen years, Hank Bennett; a son, Paul Wackerly III, of Florida; a daughter, Chrissy Weber, of Malvern. a step son, Paul Bennett, of Florida; four grandchildren Tyler Lash, Kaylla Wackerly, Cameron Huscusson, Colton Weber; and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held in the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home, Malvern, at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 4th, 2014. Calling hours will be held Wednesday 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 pm. at the Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E, Green, OH 44685. A special thanks to her Hospice nurse and good friend Diane Tiell.
