IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Taunie Lee
Davis
January 8, 1942 – February 25, 2022
Taunie Lee Davis, age 80, of Oklahoma City and formerly of Minerva, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. Taunie was born in Minerva, Ohio on January 8, 1942 to Harry McArtor and Irene (Severn) Richardson.
Taunie grew up in Minerva where she had many fond memories. She attended and graduated from Minerva High School. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Davis. Together they had four boys: Tracy, Troy, and the twins Ronald and Donald who died soon after birth. In 1967, they all headed west to California. Taunie would raise her boys in California returning to Ohio in the summers to visit friends and family. She had her hands full raising those boys as she tried to teach them right from wrong. After the boys were raised, Taunie moved back to Ohio to be close to her family. Here, she married Russell Brown. After several years she widowed and moved to South Carolina to be close to her son Troy and daughter-in-law Connie. She enjoyed the white beaches and daily walks on the boardwalks of South Carolina. For the last five years, Taunie lived in Oklahoma with her son Tracy and daughter-in-law Jodi.
Taunie was a huge Buckeye fan and whenever she saw somebody wearing a Buckeye shirt she would yell a hearty "O-H" and wait for the response "I-O." Taunie had the opportunity to attend her very first college football playoff game where the Buckeyes beat Alabama. She attended many other Buckeye games as well. Taunie went on several cruises. She traveled to Cabo, Alaska, Mount Rushmore, along with many more adventures. Taunie was as patriotic as they come. Whenever the National Anthem was played, she would sing along whether in person or on TV. Taunie had just about the sweetest disposition and demeanor that anyone could ever ask for. Those piecing blue eyes and that smile would just melt you. She was loved by many. When you asked her a question and the answer was "yes", she would give you the thumbs up with those little old crooked thumbs. Above all, she absolutely loved Jesus, adored her sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Taunie is survived by two sons: Tracy (Jodi) Davis of Oklahoma City OK and Troy (Connie) Davis of Myrtle Beach SC; three brothers: Paul (Sue) Richardson of Louisville and Terry (Patti) Richardson of East Rochester, and Lee (Mary Jo) Wyatt of Minerva; two sisters: Nikki (Joe) Krause of East Rochester and Linda (John) Beckley of Minerva; four grandchildren: Amanda (Pat), Brandon (Rachel), Ashley, and Shana; and several great-grandchildren.
