Velma Neal Willett went to be with her Lord on December 3rd, after a prolonged stay at Arbors of Minerva, Ohio, due to a progressive illness. She was 94 years old. Mrs. Willett was born to William and Jennie Neal on June 3rd, 1922, in Hooversville, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, one sister, and an infant daughter. She was married 59 years to WWII Veteran Charles Clyde Willett, a lifelong resident of Minerva, Ohio, who died in June 2010. She is survived by one son, Ronald Lee Willett, and one daughter, Lois Elaine Brown. Eight grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren also survive their grandmother. Mrs. Willett traveled extensively as a vocalist with Rev. Cecil and Alice Clifton during WWII, and then with her husband became a member of Mt. Calvary Wesleyan Methodist Church in Minerva, Ohio. She retained her membership there all her remaining years where she had served as pianist and president of the missionary society. The Willetts were "Snow Birds"; and resided 25 winters in Hobe Sound, Florida, where they served at Hobe Sound Bible Church in numerous volunteer activities. Mrs. Willett was well-known for her gracious hospitality and enjoyed sharing her home and wonderful meals with multiple friends and family. She will be sadly missed; but we do not mourn as those who have no hope, for we shall see her again some bright morning on Resurrection Day. The Funeral Service for Velma Willett will be held at Bartley Funeral Home in Minerva, Ohio, on December 10th at 11AM with calling hours prior to the service from 9AM-11AM. Rev. Robert Neal will preside over the service assisted by Rev. Gordon Warner. Graveside service will be at Moultrie Cemetery, Moultrie, Ohio.
