Wilda Elizabeth Stone, age 77 of Minerva, passed away at Minerva Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Thursday, June 1, 2023.  Wilda was born in East Rochester, Ohio on February 7, 1946 to the late Earl Joshua and Maeabell Blossom (McGrew) Fitzsimmons.

Wilda graduated from Minerva High School in 1964.  She married Garry Stone in 1964 and was married 49 years till he died in 2013.

She worked at Summitville Tile as a lineman.  She then worked at A&P Warehouse where she was the first woman to ever work on the warehouse dock with men in A&P history.  Later, she went on to get a two-year Associates Degree in Medical Assisted.   She spent a total of 38 years in the nursing field; working at East Carroll Nursing, JTNist Nursing, and Great Trail Nursing.  Wilda enjoyed spending time teaching people to ride horses.  She loved her family, animals (especially horses), and the people she took care of at the three nursing homes.

Wilda is survived by two sons: Garry Leroy Stone of Springfield and Steven Allan Stone of Dellroy; a granddaughter, Rebecca Mae (Dillon) Beadle of East Rochester; two grandsons: Steven Allan (Rebecca) Stone Jr of Dellroy and Caleb Joseph Stone of Carrollton; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Harvey Fitzsimmons of Minerva; and a cousin, Norma Bowen of Magnolia.

There will be no services.  Burial will be at Quaker Ridge Cemetery.
