William "Bill" Adam Abbott, age 86, of Akron, passed away at his daughter's home on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Bill was born in Akron, Ohio on January 15, 1937 to William Franklin and Elizabeth (Yohan) Abbott.

Bill was a tire builder and welder. He also enjoyed farming and proudly served in the US Air Force.

To cherish his memories, Bill is survived by two daughters: Susanne Anderson of Akron and Brenda (David) Hess of Erlanger KY; two sons: William Shane Abbott of Alliance and Darrell (Kim) Abbott of Canton; grandchildren: Natasha Anderson, Trevon Anderson, Michael S Abbott, Desiree Soto, Erica Phillips, Jeffrey Hess, Nicholas Hess, and Derek Hess; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers: John Abbott of Uniontown, Jim (Sheila) Abbott of Uniontown, and Paul (Barbara) Abbott of Irondale; and one sister, Karen Abbott of Rio Rancho NM.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne (Kash) Abbott and a grandson, Christian Anderson.

Funeral service will be held at Bartley Funeral Home, 205 West Lincolnway, Minerva, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at 1 PM with Father Victor Cinson officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Bartley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery at a later date.
